Does the SPSLink Trek need a repeater or a radio license?

No. The Trek talks over 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, so there is no repeater, no tower to maintain and no FCC license to hold. Coverage is wherever a supported cellular or Wi-Fi connection is available.

What is the range of the SPSLink Trek?

Range is not limited by distance. Two Trek radios on the same account can talk across a job site or across the country as long as each has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.

Is the SPSLink Trek waterproof?

The Trek is rated IP67 and the manufacturer states it floats, so it survives rain, washdowns and a drop in the water.

Do I need to activate the SIM?

No. Choose a plan when you order and the radio ships with the SIM installed and already active. Turn it on and start talking.
