Questions about the radio
How is the SPSLink Go different from the Trek?
The Go is the compact model: 117.5 x 58.5 x 24.5 mm with a 2.0 inch display and a side SOS control. The Trek is larger with a 2.4 inch display and a bigger battery. Both run the same plans and the same 4G LTE plus Wi-Fi connection.
Does the SPSLink Go need a repeater or a radio license?
No. The Go talks over 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, so there is no repeater and no FCC license. Coverage is wherever a supported cellular or Wi-Fi connection is available.
What does the SOS button do?
The side SOS control is a dedicated emergency key on the Go. How it alerts your team depends on your SPSLink account setup; contact us to configure it.
Do I need to activate the SIM?
No. Choose a plan when you order and the radio ships with the SIM installed and already active.
Can the Go use Starlink?
Yes. The Go connects over Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi connectivity through a Starlink terminal has been tested. Starlink supplies the connection; the radio still needs an active SPSLink plan.
